MadMax respects your privacy. This page explains in plain language what data we collect, why, how it is protected, and how you can control or delete it.
We follow Quebec's Law 25, the EU GDPR, and Canada's PIPEDA.
02 · Data collected
Newsletter: your email address and language preference. Nothing else is required.
Account (optional): name, email, and — if you sign in via Google — your Google account ID.
Comments: your display name and the content of your comment.
Browsing: anonymous page-view statistics (no third-party tracking cookies, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
03 · Why
To send the newsletter, manage your account, moderate comments, and understand which articles are read so the next issue is better.
No targeted advertising. No commercial profiling. No resale.
04 · Retention
Newsletter address: kept while you are subscribed. Permanently deleted after unsubscribe.
Account: kept while you use the service. Deleted on request or after 24 months of inactivity.
Comments: kept while the article remains published.
05 · Processors
Postmark — newsletter and transactional email delivery (USA, GDPR-compliant).
OVHcloud / Canada server — site and database hosting.
Google — OAuth authentication only if you choose to sign in with Google.
06 · Cookies
The site uses a session cookie to keep you signed in. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels. A 30-minute technical cookie prevents double-counting of page views.
07 · Your rights
Access — you may request a copy of all data we hold about you.
Rectification — you may correct any inaccurate data.
Erasure — you may request total deletion of your data.
Portability — you may retrieve your data in a readable format.
Objection — you may refuse certain processing.

08 · Security
Passwords stored using bcrypt. Encrypted HTTPS connection across the entire site. Database access restricted and logged.
09 · Changes
Any major update to this policy will be announced by email to newsletter subscribers.
